At Keychain SA, we believe that every woman should feel safe and empowered, both at home and in the workplace. That’s why we launched our 2024 #StopGBV campaign, inviting corporates to join us in the fight against Gender-Based Violence. We were thrilled when the Spar Group came through as one of the first companies to partner with us, hosting a corporate self-defense class that left a lasting impact on 200 dedicated women.
To accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals, we organized the training into four split sessions. Each class was an engaging, hands-on experience that not only equipped the ladies with our Ladies Self-Defense Bundle but also provided essential life-saving techniques through team-building exercises. The bundle includes a taser, pepper spray, kubaton, and a car safety tool, ensuring that each participant walked away with practical tools for personal safety.
The energy in the room was electric as the ladies engaged in these empowering activities. By the end of the sessions, they left feeling both mentally and physically prepared to face any challenge that comes their way. This event was a testament to Spar’s commitment to its people, offering a corporate gift that truly shows they care, especially in the context of South Africa’s unique challenges.
Through this partnership, Spar demonstrated that they are not just a retailer but a brand that invests in the well-being and safety of their employees. We had a great time interacting with everyone and look forward to future collaborations that continue to make a difference.
